about

Emma Maltby (she/her) is a Los Angeles-based performer of stage and screen from Sleepy Hollow, NY. She began her professional acting career while still a student at the University of Chicago and worked at theaters across the city, including the prestigious Goodman Theatre. After graduating from UChicago with a dual degree in English and Theater Studies, Emma joined the Professional Training Company at the Actors Theatre of Louisville, the country’s premiere regional theater for new plays, where she worked with esteemed directors such as Steve H. Broadnax III and Will Davis and pursued her passion for performing in new work. Select theater credits include The Wolves (Goodman Theatre), We've Come to Believe, Pipeline, and Dracula (Actors Theatre of Louisville), Angels in America (Foolish Production Co.), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Echo Theater & THTR TRUK).

Since moving to Los Angeles with her wife Grace, Emma has acted both onstage and onscreen, working on studio projects, award-winning independent short films, digital sketches, and more, including Hobbies (HollyShorts Film Festival), Pirouette (New York Shorts Int'l Film Festival), Two Minutes (AGBO No Sleep 'Til Film Fest 3rd Place Winner), and This Will Be A Really Funny Story One Day (d. Grace McLeod), as well as Netflix films Damsel and the upcoming The Electric State.

When she’s not acting, you can find her traveling back and forth to New York City, where she lives part-time, or else running all over the east side of LA as she trains for her next long-distance race. Emma also produces projects under the banner of Gramma Productions, through which she has collaborated with many exciting new voices in theater, film, and new media.
